Surgical Scrub and SSI

Surgical Scrub is the oldest strategy to reduce infection of the surgical area and is one of the most important measures in medicine; hand washing should be taken into serious consideration before surgical operation with Povidone-iodine Solution (7.5%).
Patient skin is a major source of pathogens that causes Surgical site infection, optimization of preoperative skin antisepsis may decrease postoperative infections.

Efficacious Scrub

Povidone-iodine Scrub 7.5% is more efficacious than that of alcohol based solutions in preoperative hand disinfection. (International Journal of Research in Medical Sciences | December 2016 | Vol 4 | Issue 12)
Povidone-iodine Scrub 7.5% is also used in pre-operative shower for the patient to prevent infection & SSI.
