D-125

World’s Most Preferred Green Disinfectant

D-125 is a 3rd generation twin chain quaternary ammonium compound. D-125 is tested and documented by major private and government authorised laboratories. D-125 is US EPA registered & also approved by FDA of many leading countries including India with claims of 148 micro-organisms including HIV, HBV, HCV, Polio, H1N1, H5N1 etc.

Microgen’s “D-125” is recommended for use as a non-porous hard surface disinfectant in Poultry farm, Animal husbandry and other healthcare facilities.

D-125 is aldehyde free
Non – corrosive
Non – irritant

Transmission of Avian Influenza

Waterfowl such as wild ducks are thought to be primary hosts for all bird flu subtypes. Though normally resistant to the viruses, the birds carry them in their intestines and distribute them through feces into the environment, where they infect susceptible domestic birds. Sick birds pass the viruses to healthy birds through saliva, nasal secretions, and feces. Within a single region, bird flu is transmitted readily from farm to farm by airborne feces-contaminated dust and soil, by contaminated clothing, feed, and equipment, or by wild animals carrying the virus on their bodies. The disease is spread from region to region by migratory birds and through international trade in live poultry. Humans who are in close contact with sick birds—for example, poultry farmers and slaughterhouse workers—are at the greatest risk of becoming infected. Virus-contaminated surfaces and intermediate hosts such as pigs can also be sources of infection for humans.

Action plan of Avian influenza ( H5N1)

Bird flu, also called avian influenza, a viral respiratory disease mainly of poultry and certain other bird species, including migratory waterbirds, some imported pet birds, and ostriches, that can be transmitted directly to humans. The first known cases in humans were reported in 1997, when an outbreak of avian influenza A virus subtype H5N1 in poultry in Hong Kong led to severe illness in 18 people, one-third of whom died.

According to the World Health Organization, more than 850 people were infected with H5N1 between 2003 and 2016; more than 50 percent of those individuals died. The majority of human H5N1 infections and deaths occurred in Egypt, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

Influenza viruses can be inactivated by D-125 disinfectant includes denaturation of surface proteins, thus preventing viral attachment and damaging viral nucleic acid thereby preventing virus replication.

D-125 is proved effective disinfectant against avian influenza virus. D-125 tested at the (HIGH SECURITY ANIMAL DISEASE LABORATORY) HSADL, Bhopal, meet the requirements of an ideal disinfectant when used as a surface disinfectant (lab work benches, biosafety cabinet) and also for other decontamination procedures (spill-over) in the biosafety labs operated under graded pressure through modulated air handling system and outside the lab in other amenities also (Murugkar 2008).
